Okay.......I am looking into buying a set of forward dump headers for sbm. My question is, which is a better application for a basically stock 318, 1 1/2 inch pipe or 1 3/4 ? Or is there no difference and the size is only a preference for the consumer? Thanks in advance for any info, advice, or experience.

I dont think it makes a difference but I like the sound the 1 3/4 makes better

1 1/2 for a stock 318.
Hell I use 1 1/2 primary's with a 2 1/2 collector on my 398 stroker with 4 into1 headers.Smaller primary's are for bottom end torque back pressure.
1 3/4 pipes are more for a high rpm performance engine.Notice how big pipes are on drag cars?

new stacks hmmm you must be getting into these mopars about time lol ;D i think 1 3/4 would sound good it's all about the sound.I checked out dec hearders web site the other day and they got some nice ones

maybe its just me but i dont like anything but the 1 1/2 pipe sound i do not like the deep sounding motors ig just me
