yes 1973 did have the best front clip but the best impalas were from 1974-76..great cars for modified welded i never ran one stock and wouldnt waste a 74-76 is a stock class..i would run an 1980s caprice in a stock class

brother ran a rusty 74 in stock class, did well with it, will definatly tare stock 80s cars apart. I generally run 80s cars cuz stock class doesn't pay well around here. I refuse to wreck a $500-$600 car for a chance at $300.

1973 and 74 are the best front clips . The bumpers are also the best . I put impala clips on all my impalas . I realize that the east now has very little old iron left . I have thirty 74 to 76 sedans . People still drive them here .

Or if you wanted to get the real best of both worlds you would put a 73 Chevy clip on a 74-76 tow package Buick amd put a 74 Chevy bumper on it but in a stock class if I had to run an old iron Id choose a 74-76 impala or Buick with the front bumper flipped

I enjoy any 71-76 gm car, with a bumper swap the 71-73 cars are great and for stock class the round backs can really take a beating. I won my home town derby for the first time with a rusty 76 caprice wagon. For your smaller tracks I like the 77 and up cars square or bubble they will do the trick. TOM
