roll the tailgate halfway down and weld it, use as much 9 wire as allowed, crease/ pound in the back quarters, make sure u have plenty of clearence behind ur back wheels too or when the back blows ull have flat tires, and from wat ive seen the 71-73 hold up better in the backend cuz of just having that chrome bumper skin instead of one with steel backing

I dont think the bumpers on these make much differance, since they are not mounted to the frame. Its all gonna pack in.

I would bolt the bumper through the tail gate it helps to hold everything together and wire the mount areas in the back to the roof with 9 wire

My honest opinion is rounbacks are way overrated! An old iron caddie or any well built sedan can trash one quickly. But they are still one of the best. I will take my caddies over them any day though.
