Is there any difference in wheel base between a 2 door and 4 door? I have a 2 door with bad frame and good body and a 4 door with bad body and good frame. Any reason i can't swap out the bad body for the good one? one car is a 63 the other is a 64. Wheelbase should be the same, just longer doors on the 2 door. never heard od a 4 door being longer than a 2door for any car.

been doing some research on these cars too, its critical to change the leaf spring hangers as the stock ones are JUNK.... also with the front end, from wat ive read is wat you want to do is find 74-76 caddilac rear bumper shocks and extend them and run them down the channel fronted as far as you can and weld that solid then weld ur steel backed bumper to the shocks, also id leave the stock mounting equiptment on just for extra support on the sides

I wouldn't say the rear shackle design is junk. They are riveted to the bottom of the frame. I have seen many of these run with stock shackles without issue. having said that though, I would ditch the rivets for bolts personally. Or build a different shackle if you rules allow. But if you had to keep stock per the rules, I wouldn't sweat the factory shackles too much.

true, thats where the stock ones always bend tho is at that shackle rather then even bellying in front of the "humps"..... example ran to the same rules as schirados above car...... it looks like he may have done something different with the back bumper and brackets tho
