I'd run the mid 70's lincolns I'd prefer a 2-door though they seem to hold up better.

Any 74-78 Ford or Linc are very tough cars...esp in the front...i would take the lincoln first just cause the rears are a lil better than a ford rear....and if you change the motor you will have to change the oil pan in these cars

mid 70s lincoln, ran one for my first welded car, got 3 good runs on it. Front was suprisingly strong.

I ran a mid 70's lincoln, the core support is garbage. I actually had better luck with the mid 70's Mercs. But out of all the mid 70's Fords I have ran, none last more than one show. The rear ends are garbage, and if you don't hide them they will get trashed. Full weld Merc marquis 1975 I think it was. Neil Moore of Baker, someone I actually consider a friend, did this to me at the last show I ran. Stupid full welded boxcar imperials.....LOL Sure is packed in nicely.........cocked the rear end over pretty good too.....

Yep I agree with above mentioned. 74-78 Lincolns. I've been trying to find one for awhile now.

I have seen the Lincolns do good and bad ran against one this year in a no weld show and he didn't mess with the ibeam shocks and two hits to the front and it bent hard in front of the a-arms

Yea, if you want to run a 70s Lincoln you need to do the research and put in all the extra work. I learned a lot just from my 70s Thunderbird.
