exactly what does a fuel safety switch do. does it kill power to the fuel pump to the motor? what is the best way of getting around the fuel safety switch? i want to have my gas tank in the car with a hot wired fuel pump to a toggle, will that solve my worries?

yea the toggle switch kills the fuel pump you ned to find the wires that allow your pump to pump and just but a toggle switch to break the circuit. but i recommend to put a inline fuse in the wiring that way you dont burn up the wiring.

Yes it turns off the power to the fuel pump. This switch is called an Inertia Switch. After a hard enough bump or jolt it will trip off. To temporarly get around this switch, find the switch in the trunk of the car. Usually on the drivers side near under the speaker deck or side quarter. There will be 2 wires coming out of this box, they were Pink with black stripes everytime I've seen them so far. Cut both these lines and twist them together. This will disable the switch and keep your pump running.

If your going to have it hooked up to a fuse during the derby, keep a 2nd spare in your pocket with the next level higher amperage. Incase that one blows you can quickly replace it with something a bit higher and finish the derby.

Run the toggle to the possitive wires. The aftermarket pump will work fine as long as it has enough pressure.
