DRIVERS AND PIT CREW MEMBERS
1. Drivers must be at least 16 years of age. Drivers 16 & 17 yrs. of age must provide a notarized permission slip from
their legal guardian to participate (The form is on the back side of entry form).
2. All drivers must fill out an entry form and return to the fair board office with payment.
3. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license.
4. Drivers may have their own number with paid pre-registration. Numbers are on a first come, first serve basis. Fair
office will notify driver if multiple numbers occur to either add a letter behind number or pick new number.
5. Everyone requesting a pit pass must sign a release waiver.
6. Entry fees and pit passes are non-refundable.
7. No drugs or alcohol of any kind are permitted anywhere on fairgrounds. Any driver or pit crew member believed to
be under the influence will be immediately disqualified and may be prohibited from future events.
8. No switching of drivers allowed.
9. Any misconduct or breaking of the rules will also result in disqualification at the discretion of the officials.
10. Official’s decisions are final!
11. Drivers entry fee includes a pit pass all others must pay $10.00 per pit pass. Pit passes allow entrance to
fairgrounds, but does not include rides. Ride passes can be purchased at the ticket booths for $4.00 ea.
VEHICLE TYPE
1. Any American made hardtop, 2 or 4 door, automobile or station wagon is permitted.
2. NO trucks, jeeps, hearses, ambulances, limousines, full frame Chrysler Imperials, 4x4’s, or utility vehicles.
PREPARATION
1. All glass; including windshield, side & rear windows, head & tail-lights, and marker lights must be removed.
Rolling down windows is not permitted.
2. Sunroofs must be covered with sheet metal and properly secured.
3. All exterior chrome molding strips, hubcaps, emblems, wiper arms, plastic grilles, outside door handles, and
plastic or fiberglass header panels must be removed before entering fairgrounds.
4. All carpeting, interior molding strips, rear seats, headliners, inner door panels, and any other flammable material
must be removed before entering fairgrounds.
5. Dash boards are optional.
6. Vehicles must be swept free of all debris.
7. No profanity of any kind allowed to be painted on vehicle.
8. Drivers’ door, passenger door and roof MUST be painted white with your number painted clearly visible. Roof signs
are allowed and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
INTERIOR AND BODY
1. One battery, any size permitted. Must be securely mounted to floor and covered.
2. Push buttons permitted must be clearly marked in plain view. NO loose wiring, PLAYING with wiring is considered
sandbagging!
3. Original fuel tank must be removed and replaced with marine type, plastic or steel tank and securely mounted to
rear floor and covered. Maximum 8 gallon per heat.
4. All fuel lines must be secured clamped & leak-proof. Any car leaking fuel will result in disqualification.
5. Electric fuel pumps are permitted, but must have a visible shut-off switch and in plain view for safety.
6. Doors must be fastened shut by wire, chain, banding or welding. Maximum 3” x ¼” wide strips. Any door that
comes open will result in disqualification. It is highly recommended that the driver’s door be reinforced. You may
fold the top of the doors and weld them, sheet metal to sheet metal only.

7. Only rust holes on floor pans may be patched with no thicker than 14 gauge sheet metal. No other holes or rust
may be repaired.
8. It is highly recommended that a 4-point type safety cage be placed in driver’s compartment.
9. Bars not to exceed 4” diameter or square. One (1) bar horizontal across dash and one (1) bar horizontal behind
seat. Two (2) adjoining bars, perpendicular to dash and seat bar, to attach them together. End plates not to
exceed 12” square AND CANNOT EXCEED 6” PAST THE DRIVERS SEAT. Bars must be securely welded. BARS
MAY NOT ATTACH TO FRAME IN ANY WAY. NO KICKERS. NO GAS TANK PROTECTOR.
10. Roll-over bar is permitted and must be attached to safety cage only!
11. Rubber body mounts may be replaced with maximum 3/4” bolts and 4” washers and solid mounted to frame in
factory location ONLY. (Inside frame rail)
12. Must have 2 window bars in windshield. Flat stock (3” wide max by ¼” thick) or chains may be used. You may
have one (1) rear window bar, flat stock or chain.
13. You may cut wheel wells for clearance. You can bolt wheel wells with 3/8” bolts 1” washers in five (5) places per
wheel.
HOOD, DECK LID, AND TAILGATE
1. Hood must have a10” hole cut to either side of carburetor, unless using headers.
2. Fuel injected cars must have a 6” hole cut above fuel injection unit.
3. Headers must point straight up.
4. Hoods must be open for inspection and then fastened shut by #9 wire, banding bolts or chain. Two (2) strands of
wire per hole. Maximum 6 locations. Two (2) locations may run from hood to bumper with wire, chain, or banding.
If using bolts they can not exceed ¾” x 2”. Angle iron can not exceed 3” x 3”.
5. Deck lids and tailgates may be fastened shut by wire, banding, chain, welding or bolting in 6 locations. Bolts must
be used same as hood. If welding, you may weld 5” on 5” off with 3” x 3” by ¼” plates. Do not shift deck lid.
Deck lid must remain in stock location and have a 10” inspection hole. You may pre bend or wedge. You must
have a minimum of 8” between lid and truck floor. No full wedges and NO SEDAGONS.
CHASSIS AND FRAME
1. Frames cannot be reinforced or strengthened in anyway whatsoever!! NO loaded frames!! Frames will be checked
thoroughly!! NO FRAME OF SUB FRAME SWAPS!!!!
2. All cars must have some give or bounce. No stiff or locked suspension.
3. Pre-ran frames may be repaired at a minimum! Each tear may be welded with a ¼” wide weld, 1 pass per tear.
Four (4) places max on frame.
4. Notching is permitted.
5. Frame seams may be welded. No weld wider than ¼” from firewall forward only!! Top seams only!! This will be
strictly enforced!!
6. Official’s decisions on frame are final!!
7. Trailer hitches must be removed.
8. No special bumpers.
9. Bumper may be welded solid to frame but cannot re-enforce frame in anyway! No added steel. You may weld
bumper seams. No extra metal added. Only factory mounts may be used. You may trim bumper.
10. A chain must be wrapped around bumper. Chains may be bolted or welded to frame.
11. Front and back bumpers must be at least 18” off the ground from the bottom of the bumper.
SUSPENSION
1. NO LEAF CONVERSIONS.
2. Rear ends must be a 5-lug automotive type only.
3. Only factory stock, factory mounted, factory leaf pack will be permitted. If leafs have been altered in any way, you
will NOT run!!!!
4. You may use 4 leaf clamps per side (2 in front of axel and 2 behind = 4 per side)
5. You may change coil springs on coil cars, but must have bounce.
6. You may chain your humps. Frame rail to axle only, one (1) chain per side.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
1. Any motor/ transmission combination is permitted.
2. Motor and transmission mounts may be chained or welded, so long as it does not strengthen the frame in anyway.
3. Hand throttles permitted.
4. Shifting linkage may be altered.
5. Air cleaner mandatory. No ether allowed.
6. Transmission coolers are permitted and must be placed behind driver’s seat. All lines must be securely clamped
and leak-proof.

7. NO DISTRIBUTOR PROTECTORS, PULLEY PROTECTORS OR ENGINE PROTECTORS WILL BE PERMITTED!!! You
may use an engine cradle if you are swapping motors for mounting purposes only.
TIRES, RADIATOR AND FAN
1. Maximum 16” tires. No liquid in tires. Tubes acceptable. Double tires permitted.
2. No studded tires. No tire screws, rivets or bead lock on rims. No split rims. Wheel weights must be removed.
You may use valve stem protectors.
3. Radiator must remain in stock location. Coolant must be flushed. Water is the only alternative.
4. Steel clutch fans must be covered. Electric fans permitted.
SAFETY AND RUNNING
1. Each driver/ car is only allowed one (1) re-inspection.
2. Only driver & one (1) crew member permitted during inspection.
3. All cars must comply with the rules.
4. Inspections will be thorough!! Official’s decision is final!!
5. DOT or SNELL approved helmet mandatory.
6. Safety belts required. Eye protection must be worn. Long pants, sleeves and gloves are highly recommended.
7. A 2.5 lb. working fire extinguisher must be mounted and properly secured within driver’s reach.
8. Heats will be divided up accordingly. The Trumbull County Fair Demo Committee will assign heat numbers to
indicate what heat position you’re in.
9. Driver will go in his assigned heat and position. Any attempted changing of assigned heat & position will result in
disqualification.
10. No deliberate driver’s door hits.
11. Do not get out of your car unless instructed by track personnel.
12. Any door that comes open will result in disqualification.
13. Any car smoking excessively or leaking fuel will be disqualified.
14. Boundaries must be maintained at all times.
15. One (1) minute time limit on all hits.
16. Hits must be aggressive!! Not making aggressive hits is considered sandbagging. Sandbagging will not be
tolerated for any reason!!
17. All cars must have dependable brakes.
18. When the siren sounds, all drivers must stop immediately.
19. All feature cars are subject to re-inspection at the conclusion of the derby.
20. All drivers must attend driver’s meeting.
21. All work must be done before arrival.
22. Any car not removed from fairgrounds 24 hours after demo will become property of Trumbull County Fair.
23. No car limit.
24. Driver’s $100 protest fee payable to T.C.A.S. is required to contest another car. Protest must be done before
drivers meeting. Fee will be refunded if car is found ineligible.
ENTERING GROUNDS AND DEMO GATE
1. Cars are to enter and leave the grounds at GATE A only (Bazetta Rd entrance)
2. Observe the maximum speed limit of 5 mph or you will be disqualified.
3. Cars are to unload before entering the Demo Gate. The field east of the Demo Gate – north of a Gate A is the
unloading area, starting at 10 a.m.
4. Demo Gate will open at 12 noon and close one (1) hour before start time.
5. All cars must be inside Demo Gate, registered and inspected one (1) hour before start time or forfeit your entry.
COMPACT RULES
1. 4 or 6 cylinder only. No V-8’s.
2. Must follow full size rules.
3. No leaf conversions.
4. Bumper swaps permitted.
5. No Cadillac Eldorado’s or Oldsmobile Tornadoes.
6. RWD & FWD wheelbase limit = 106”.

Winners receiving over $599 annually in purse money must complete a W-9 form before payment can be issued and a 1099

Upon reading the rules and regulations and signing the entry form ALL drivers agree to the following:
I agree not to hit the driver’s door. If I do, I am automatically disqualified. I agree to have my vehicle at the race track
area, checked and inspected one (1) hour prior to show. I also agree that the Fair Board is not responsible for the car and
or driver. I agree not to approach any Flagman, Judge, or Fair Board Director about any decision that they render before,
during, or after the demo, their decision is law. If I do have questions about any decision, I will go to a Fair Board meeting
and discuss this question when asked. If I do not abide by these rules and regulations, I understand that I will be banned
from participating in any future demolition derby. I agree not to engage in any fighting or the consumption of any
intoxicating substance or I will be removed from the fairgrounds with NO REFUND of any fees and I will forfeit all prize
money.
