I personally like the grill. Looks pretty cocky going down the interstate and seeing huge chrome bars coming at you. Ours mainly sees highway miles, and unloaded its been getting about the same as you, in the 15-16 range. Pulling anhydrous tanks it makes about 12. They are pretty nice, the only complaint we had was when we ordered it. Couldn't get Traction-Lok with the 3.73's. How retarded is it you can't get limited slip on a one-ton dually? What gears do you have?
There's 2 other 2011's around Mott too. I think ones a 250 and the other a 350. The guy with the 250 claims he's gotten 17 to 18 MPG with it but.........?
We'll see how well we like it when its real time comes if we ever get done seeding. It's got a gooseneck with 3000 gallons of water, Batchboy setup, and chemical shuttles to pull.

I am about 95% positive that the duallys all got 3.73's with limited slip. It doesn't show as an option because it is not only standard, but the only thing you can get.
I have 3.55's, the only gear available with single rear wheels and 20 inch wheels.
The guy with the 250 may be right. I could easily squeak out 18 mpg if I drove 65. Its the 5 extra mph that gets shitty mileage.
Was your dads truck a cab and chassis truck? Or did he remove the box? Cab and chassis trucks are different from the trucks with boxes.
Have you looked at the king ranch trucks with the painted grill surround? Thats what I am gonna do. It takes the chrome front from around a 12 to about an 8. LOL Really sharp. I plan on maybe doing 2 to 4 inches of lift and 35's. My factory tires are 34+ inches tall already.
I wanted a truck the color of your dads. I had it narrowed down to tuxedo black, sterling grey (your dads color), ingot silver, or platinum white. In that order, except black and dark grey were tied for first. It came down to what was available. I ended up buying in heddinger, but they got my truck from a dealer in Nebraska.

I can't seem to find the specs on rearends on their website so I'll look at the brochure when I get home. I'm almost positive that ours doesn't have limited slip in it, and we wanted it to. Ours we ordered as cab & chassis. I think that's where it got complicated and messed up. The regular boxed pickups came with limited slip in a 3.73, but the cab & chassis were the open differential.
The guy that has the 250 is older so I figured that might be the reasoning why he gets what he does for mileage.
Haven't seen any of the King Ranch's with the painted grille surround. Haven't seen a lifted one in person either, but I'm sure it'd look good. Personally I think the 2 inch would be the perfect amount.
I think the tuxedo black is really sharp, and I also like the sterling gray. He wanted the platinum white and to put a gray stripe on it to match our Ford Ranger and semi, but women always get their way and we ended up getting the gray. I'd say you had some pretty good color options picked.
I saw on the pics of yours it came from RZ's in Hettinger. Sounds like it had a long haul up here too. We ordered ours from Eide in Bismarck. Took about a month and a half longer than it was suppose to. Sat at the loading dock for at least 2 weeks.

Yeah, the differential may be open with the cab/chassis trucks. I think they also got a different turbo than the standard boxed pickups. Is your dad's an F350 or F450? Its a sweet truck.

Thanks we really like it. I can't find the brochure but yea it's an open differential. I think you're right about the cab & chassis getting a different turbo than the standard boxed pickups. Ford's website makes no mention of cab & chassis that I've found but after reading a few forums it appears the internals on the two turbos are different. It almost sounds like the standard boxed pickups spool quicker than the cab & chassis turbos do. It's a 350. And I had the experience of driving it today ;D
