Was it a 6 cylinder truck? You need springs from a big block truck or car,,, or springs from a f-250. What I would do is just take the spring out and put a spacer on top of it.

82 that's what i,m going to do is the old water pump pulley my be 2 on top i need to get it up to at less 24 from the bumper up .i never did the f 150 i no the the old spring will work with 2 pulleys on top of spring . i just might put it all together and use some chain and a come along and pull the 2 a-arm together and weld them so that thy don't move up or down

If you you weld your uppers, you should also weld your lowers where they go into the engine cradle.

tried to put some what i was told were f 250 springs into my car but we couldn't get them to compress enough to go in too stiff so just gonna cut them down to about the same height of the originial springs im thinking this will work

I use all thread to get mine back together. After the shock is out, you can run a piece of allthread through both arms and spring, tighten till balljoint lines back up. Makes the process a lot safer as well. I use 3/4 allthread and big 1/4 inch washers.

i got one end of it done and all i got was 1/2 inch more bumper hight was it The f-250 springs should go in there, something else I've done to sqeeze them together is to------Put a very large ratchet strap around the lower arm,,,and put the hooks on the fender or over the fender and around the frame,,,ctrank as tight as possibble and have a jack under the lower as well. This way is much easier with the engine in the car for wieght, a couple extra guys helps also.

But if it still has bounce you need to go to a stiffer spring or bigger spacer. The shock may also be holding it down, if you have stiff enough springs, you don't need them.
