Pulled the car back out of storage for 2010. I originally was going to part out and scrap this car, but later changed my mind and brought it back from the dead. Pulled the engine out of the lincoln. To put the 81 lincoln engine into my 76 thunderbird. 81 lincoln ford 302. New engine for the Lincoln. Before we did any work on it. Took the rear bumper off to save for later use. Also put the rear bumper shocks on my thunderbird. Car sat outside all summer long. Brought it inside to start working on it. Pulled the front frame back down. New engine hooked up in the car. 89 Crown Vic ford 302. Doors have straps welded on them now for this new derby's rules. This will prolly be the last run for this car and the first test run of my new ford engine. Stay tuned for more pics and the aftermath Results. The Lincoln is running on August 28th at Greenville Ohio stock class.

will this new derby allow you to shorten the front frame rails and weld the bumper on? It would really stiffen the front.

Yea, I could of shortened the front frame rails and welded the bumper much closer. I could also add metal straps to hold the bumper on. Also the rules allow all thread to run through the core support to the hood. Basicly a lot more could of been done to this car, but I just didnt have the time. I only had 1 week and 1/2 to get the whole thing running and driving for the derby. That was awhile ago, now I'm down in college. I will come home to finish a few details on the car and run the car in the derby. But other than that, these pics are as ready as I got it lol. We'll see how it holds. Bringing it to a new derby first time having a stock class. Maybe it will be easy cars

Well the car did great! I got 6th place in the stock class. I had a blast driving it! Used the back of the car almost the entire time. Either I broke both back axles in the car, or shattered the posi and gears. Transmission still works and driveshaft spins, but neither back tire spin. I'm pretty sure I broke one axle half way through the derby, then the other one at the end. Before the derby. During the derby. Aftermath Trunk folded great. Radiator has a crack somewhere. I think the car is finally finished off though. I am going to open up the rearend cover in the spring and see what is all damaged with the axles.
