So I dont see any tips for these cars. Alot of people say they are junk, But i just picked up one for free. and was wondering what can be done to the front to make them stronger. There is not much of a frame horn to work with, and the rear is channel from about half way between the humps and the bumper brackets. But it is square tube full frame car from the A-arms back to where it turns to channel. Here is a pic of the car. Its not the greatest pic, But I was thinking about pulling it all apart and and building a fully welded outlaw car out of it. I've got a year to do it. there is a run what ya brung class here at our local Fair derby. this year is the first year for it. if it goes well that is what I thought I would do with it. I dont know. any input would be great thanks in advance guys.

They bend funny... totally unpredictable...the fronts love to go straight to the ground. but if you can plate the frame id say give er hell and have fun with it.. but if its just a chain n bang or limited weld id sell it and find another car.. you would be bringing a very dull knife to a fully auto gun fight..

I've got a couple other cars to choose from for my local shows, But I thought about this one for a fully welded show. Can plate the frame as much as we want, kickers, seam weld, the works, I just don't know if after all that work this one would be the one or not. I guess I could post it on craigs list and see what it brings. i just don't have any paperwork or anything else on it. You know what I mean.

I know where one of these sit as well and so dont you scooter I've looked as the car everytime I drive by it and have yet to talk to someone about it I want it for a chain show the nose in it looks tuff and the rear I'd say would need some work to it I'd say get it in the air and theres half the battle of it going up instead of down

The front frame rails are kinda wierd, they stop at the core support. there is nothing out past the core support just a small bracket that the bumper brackets bolt to. I'll get under there and try to get some pics to post and try to show you guys what I mean.

Here are a couple of pics of the underside of the front of this car, you can see where the frame ends at the core support and its just a little cheesy piece that comes out that the bumper bracket bolts to. I was thinking I could weld some rectangular square tube to the end to beef it up a little then hard nose a bumper right to that, but I am looking for any and all input on this. I wont be building this car for a while, but its sitting at my house so I am having a hard time keeping my hands off of it. some of u guys know what I mean. I'm not even sure if I'll be building this car before the 63 newport I have, or the 79 caddy that I have, I just don't know. oh the confusion. LOL I guess I should worry about finishing off the Polara first huh. Anyway any input would be great>
