I was going to PM Jonny, but decided to put this out there publicly...
I had sponsors back out and could not find another one. Thats on me. It really seemed like everything was rolling solid on this contest but the wheels fell off on one end and my personal job situation changed drastically. I continue to be working 10+ hour days and with too many other projects (film business, NY Championships), I lost the handle on this contest and didn't get the promotion I had hoped for nor was there as much turn out as expected. I'm not making excuses, nor am I saying any of this is OK. But, these are plastic cars and my son is only going to be 20 mos old once. Working 10 hr days and with the other projects, the time I have with him will be dedicated to that.
In addtion, discussions here cooled. And, we didn't have multiple builders enter multiple cars... Instead of cancelling it as a whole, I'm considering pooling all the entries (like all 10 of them) and paying back the top five... I'm not too into shelling out $50, but I'll spring for the $25, the air brush, paint pack, dvds...

deadline was deadline. You can enter it by tonight when we go through and score everything. But, as the guidelines said... highest placing entry gets the prizes. Post it up, but it will be docked points as late...
My advice is hang onto it and enter it at another time. It saves headache for everyone involved. But, if you want to post it to see where it scores, go ahead. It will be docked and I would be inclined to step over it and award prizes to the guy that finishes behind it...

Highest placing entry secures prize... Everyone gets something with that payout structure. Each judge scored out of 200 points per car. Dr. Demo's 76 Impala ($25 cash) 152 122 148 = 422 Dr. Demo's Crown Vic 118 107 122 = 347 JC's Entry (Trumansburg DVD) 117 80 98 = 295 William 76x (Wreckapalooza DVD) 111 64 93 = 268 Cody's Fury (Paint Pack) 80 44 73 = 197 Travis' Imperial (Paint Pack) 42 29 32 = 103 Please PM me your addresses... Judge notes: Judge 2 was by far the toughest to impress (again). Dr D - well done, not much to add other than those pesky undamaged bumpers on the Impala. JC - Mud was kind of overdone. Looked good and you've progressed well. Took longer to score your car, but we collectively get the point about posting the pics. William - a happy medium between pics would be helpful. The small thumbnails dont show enough, but when clicking on pics, they become so large they show off flaws and are blurred. You didn't do wrong, but left points on the table. Damage your bumpers to match the car. Cody - Nice entry. A few tweaks and you'll be scoring well. Get pics of all categories. Travis - All the pertinent pics would have helped you score top three, presumably. Nice conversion. Well done to all. Hope to see sportsmanship, and not complaining. Please PM addresses so prizes can be dispersed. Congrats to all, thanks to WC2 for hosting!! Attachments:

thank you for doing this contest even though it wasnt as big as hoped it means a lot and nice job to everyone who entered as well also, not sayin i didnt add too much mud but i definitely went light on the mud compared to how the cars at our fair looked this year it rained a lot the night before, this was the first year the water truck wasnt used, all the brown you see on the car is mud if they wouldnt have had roof signs, itd be hard to see which is which hahaha

Pretty classy move on your parts, I must say. To get PM's saying 'thanks for putting this on even with the short turnout and the quiet site' make the efforts - while minimal - seem appreciated.
I think you guys did a great job on the cars.
As for JC - a point of reference for you might be a little more description or a reference picture, kind of like you posted after the fact. I like what you did, but the other two thought the mud sort of covered the other details - such as rust showing through the paint, paint cracking to show body metal, scratches and the like. I'm not saying you need to do anything different, but so far - it seems MANY builders will be adding reference pics to their Harvest Havoc cars to help 'explain' what their intentions were.
Descriptions DO GET READ. A judge might not see every last detail. But, pointing out something 'new' or off the beaten path might bank you an extra point or two. When I post, I put a lot of details into the description. Overkill might be what changes you from third to second. Brian often references the descriptions, and measures that against the pics (Ex: you say you have a 350 SBC, but the dist is in front? really?)
Everyone did well... all these cars are legal for the Fall Classic in November on WeCrash.com.
But, before that, the next big event is Harvest Havoc II in September on CrazyJs. It's a team event (3 cars) and pretty much everything I saw here is more or less legal. Get those cars pulled down, chain them/wire them up and trot them out again (either team of three on your own or buddy up with a few people).
Prizes are ready to roll out; They will go out shortly.
Thanks again for your support and understanding! Nice job, all!!!
