[Harvest Havoc set for a Return]
WATERLOO, NY -- Get out your best crop-grabbing duds and mud boots, dust off the derby car and get ready for the return of Harvest Havoc.
MGM's Harvest Havoc II, hosted online at crazyjsplace.proboards.com will once again feature three-car teams, and a truck and compact contest on the headline day.
That's right - the headline day. Because Havoc '11 is a two-day show.
"People wanted more, builders wanted more. So, we gave it to them," said Chris Marquart of SM Derby Duplicates, the model club that will once again direct the contest.
Added to the card is an open outlaw exhibition, a series of grudge matches, and a lawn mower derby.
The first deadline for mowers and the grudge matches is Sept. 22 at 11:59 pm eastern. The Outlaw Exhibition is open to any builder, but no prizes will be awarded. Grudge matches will be winner and will not feature full judging. No prizes are awarded for that, short of the Street Pride Resins vs. Misfits grudge match featuring Rob from STRT-PRD and Troy from Misfits. The winner will take home a Husker Havoc I Grudge Match DVD. The mowers will be judged on a simplified scale, with prizes to be announced.
The first deadline will also award 10 extra HHII points to any car taking part in the 'parade of champions' (early posts). Points go to the car, not the whole team.
The second deadline is 11:59 pm Sept. 29. Prize announcments are forth-coming. The weekend will culminate with the crowning of the full size and compact CrazyJs Builders Championships and the naming of the first class of Hall of Fame inductees.
"We've expanded the card, and we expect a TON of entries this year for all the different stuff that is going on," Marquart said. "Hope all this effort is worth it."
The hunt for sponsors continues, and announcements regarding sponsors, partners, rules and classes will be made in the coming weeks.
