I'm a freelance videographer who will be travelling around New York and Pennsylvania this summer filming derbies.
I've got a few confirmed trips on deck so far:
May 14 - Metal Destruction (Cuba, NY)
July 9 - Cayuga County Fair (Weedsport, NY)
July 16 - Bangor Smash for Cash (Bangor, NY)
July 20 & 23 - Seneca County Fair (Waterloo, NY)
Aug 27 - Date pending
September 5 - New York Championships (Weedsport, NY)
September 10 - Fall Smash (Caledonia, NY)
September 24 - Date pending
October 1 - Last Chance Smash (Cuba, NY)
I film with two cameras, and produced six full-length DVDs from the 2010 season (single angles, new camera for 2011). I usually bring help, but occasionally need an extra set of hands the day of the show to run the second camera. I also use a Canon digital for stills.
With any booking, the event promoter/organizer will get a copy of everything on one disc (if it all fits, of course! If not, you'll end up with two), including all images for use in their future marketing materials and a copy of the produced film.
Smashed Empire Films also does marketing and promotion, website design, event consulting, the occasional model derby car and I am available for annoucing assistance, as well.

Event and promotional trailers are posted on Facebook and a few on YouTube. Some raw footage from my first outing in 2010 is listed on YouTube under 'ChrisMarquart.' It was shot without a tripod; it was the first and last event I did without a tripod. Both cameras have tripods for 2011.
