made one today out of rusted diamond plate,,,,, but my measurements got off a little so its a inch short on one side so i gotta do a little fab work tomorow on it

^old chain saw box i found on the side of the road^ its bolted in and i used the seat belts to keeo the lid strapped down

mine was in the back floor pan of this car so i could have a passenger with me same box on the "hump" of the truck

I use a plastic box like the one pictured below. Reason is simple, plastic doesn't conduct electricity. If the battery shifts in the box, the last thing you want are your battery cables arcing. I use 4 bolts with big washers in box and on underside, put the battery in, stuff it full of foam, and cover. Good to go and mostly water proof from radiator mishaps. Never had one break yet.

around here that plastic box would break off the floor.....i refuse to use plastic in my cars
