I've had great luck with stock flat bumper on the rear. Then again I went against for the most part alot more late model cars. What's your plans for the front?

July 22 is the derby but im expecting them to tell me to leave it on the trailer. So if not there then in august there is a big show in Miles City Mt. A bunch of guys really want me to bring it there to run against the imperials. Decisions decisions Where is your first choice of running this at? If you end up running it in Miles City, I may have to go down and watch this. Please keep us posted

Yea the stock rear bumpers on these do good but I like the idea of using something that will control the frame rails from separating or collapsing when things start to pack in. First choice to run this is in Forsyth Mt. I will keep you all posted on where it will run. But as of right now im behind schedule to be able to make forsyth.

weld 5 points on each door and bolt and chain door bottoms to floor and frame. Bolt 6 points on hood allthread through core support, 2 at center wheel wells, and ill tie 2 bolts into the firewall to secure the hood. 6 points on trunk but going to use allthread and #9 wire in certain spots to try and control the sheet metal when it starts to roll and pack in. I might get some creasing done on the back quarters if time permits. No real detailed plan for the body, just going to figure that out as i get to it. Im still searching for the right brackets and shocks. Bracket assembly will bolt to the frame and have the bumper welded to shocks. The rules state that bumper setups must be able to un-bolt from car completely so Hopefully I get lucky and score the GM rear brackets this car needs so the front is as strong as possible and still be built within the rules. In the past the inspectors have always been very strict about how bumpers are mounted to fresh cars so I wont push the rules in that area.

Working on my cage today and I will have to patch most of the passenger side floor pan. especially around the body bolts. metal is really soft or non existent in alot of critical areas. Might take some time to get that done

Thanks scooter. But its in the redesign process right now. I didn't like how the heim joint on the steering wheel side of the shaft was in a fixed position. If the car dumps at the firewall the shaft will slide in and up so im going to make some hinges for the brace that holds the heim. Still thinking on that one. It's a head scratcher
