I run dual electric fans and sometimes an electric fuel pump and I have never ran an alternator in almost 10 years. I run a 4D battery, charge it before I put the car on the trailer and thats it. Sometimes I will put jumper cables on it in the pit to recharge after a long heat, but not necessary. They are not needed by any means.

I used to run batteries up until this year. This year I switched to the smaller 4D. The 's last 3 or 4 years! I don't understand why guys buy all those new regular batteries, sometimes even two of them. One of these monsters will last many years and spin a starter over forever....heck, you could probably weld with the damn thing. LOL

Yep, this is my first new one. I get used 's off of the oil rigs quite often. They chuck them when they won't turn over those big V12 Cat diesels, but they'll spin a small block over forever.

If you top them off with distilled water,, you can usually get a little more juice out of them. Always hook a questionable battery up to a charger and make sure it is still drawing power. Or use a voltage tester.
