A friend of mine ran a late 80's Ford with the multi-port 302 in it. I was surprised at how much power it had and how long it ran hot. Personally I don't like the idea of 35psi of fuel spraying all over the place if a line gets cut. Saw an import compact light up in seconds and driver go to the hospital when it pumped a lot of fuel inside the car.

Yep, I ran fuel injection for my first 2 years in derbies. Not too many regrets on it. The engines had incredible performance during the derby, never sputtered or stalled during big hits.
The biggest downfall with fuel injection is trying to protect all the wires. If somebody can manage that, then they will have a strong running car.
I'm going to make a thread on here showing everything fuel injection related I have done so far, goods and bads.

I ran a 91 marquis in fig 8 for 3 seasons. 302v8 It ran absolutely flawless the entire time, never stalled . I pulled the wire harness, and computer out and still have it. My buddy is a wiring Einstein and built the harness on the floor of the shop. It is a compact system, plug and play includes computer, fuel pump wiring and fuel shutoff switch. I believe it also has wiring for alternator. I am absolutely a wiring idiot and was able to use this without any help. I am not really a ford guy so if someone is interested in buying this I will sell for $125 plus shipping from MI 48003

i ran a fuel injeted minvan it ran great for me plenty of power never stalled or anything till my fuel switch got messed up but even after that i plugged it back in adn it started right back up. id run a fuel injected anytime but i would protect my front end that way the wiring is nice adn safe. Im running a 89 vic this year that has a 302 efi in it so ill post how that does after my heat in July

my vic was flawless this year plenty of power i ended up pulling another stalled car with two flat front tires in reverse. still have the vic and im gonna run it again next year same setup and all. Like demlitionmssions said if you can manage to keep all the wiring safe then you will have an unstoppable car.
