Most shows I run heats and feature are seperate nights so I don't bring much. I have one of the 280 or so piece tool sets with every socket etc. that always comes with me, pry bars, hammers, torches, floor jack, 4 way, and anything else I might need to get it back on the trailer at the end of the night (or thru inspection). I have brought as much as a compressor, generator, power tools, and a canapy to work under. Become a popular guy when people realize you brought the whole garage

I have an entire page written in a checklist style with the blank check mark spots and all. Go down the paper the morning of the derby so I dont forget anything.
First year doing derbies...remembered to bring all the cordless drills, saws, etc. But forgot to check if the batteries were charged in them. They worked for about 2 minutes if that...ha whoops.

Almost everything, you never know what you might really need at a derby if something bad happens.

I'll show pics later but an entire truck box of tools along with a snap-on road box full of tools a torch sledges and bolt cutters....if we can't fix it nobody can fix it...we even carry a lot of special tools....needless to say we could overhaul a motor at the track if we were given the parts...even have a portable puma compressor now along with our friends generator/stick welder in his truck so we don't have an excuse for not atleast jerry-rigging something together.

I forgot I had a couple pics of some the stuff we bring. Air pump, powered by car adapters. No generater needed. Extra fluids of course Have about 4 different tool boxes with different tool catogories in them Everyone should always bring an extra radiator I also bring a 2nd starter, 2nd alternator, extra switches, 2nd distributor cap, 8 replacement spark plugs, extra plug wire set, extra ignition box, extra soliniod. I pretty much have a 2nd item of every external part for quick pit action. As long as you stick with the same kind of engine each year then you will be surprised how quick you acumilate spare parts for it. The only thing I dont have 2nd spares of yet is a battery and fuel pump. I made my own derby cabinet back in high school wood shop days. This cabinet is pretty much emptied on derby day to bring everything along. The most helpful thing to bring along is extra people! Although I must say our pit crew is getting the system down pretty good. Each guy has his own area to cover. Soon as the car pulls out of the heat, they scramble over everything.

I always bring the usual assortment of tools and spare parts (we even took the line truck several times..you know the trucks they dig, winch, and set telephone poles with!!)this truck can lift entire cars, straighten frames in seconds, load the beat up cars,etc....BUT... one year this toolbelow proved to be very valuable!....now i don't go to a derby without it(its my good luck charm )...

Thats most of it, but im sure I forgot something really important as that is always the case.

Whatever fits in the two trucks. We always seem to forget something though. And its always the most important thing to. It's kinda like going out bow hunting and forgetting to grab your bow! lol
But I like that checklist idea. I'm gonna make one!
