Ya, if you don't weld them, a wheel shot will just make that tire stop spinning instead of twisting your axle apart. Have been talking to friends about this, next time you see an axle fall out take a look at it, Every one that I have seen looks like it was twisted off at the end. If it was actually the C clip failing, wouldn't the axle still be in tact. You won't ever catch me welding a rearend again. If it doesn't have a spool or a locker, than I will be 1wheeling it.

As long as you run a good set of diggers on the back, you won't miss the posi as much as you might think.

yea i'll keep that in mind if i ever come across a c-clip rear and dont feel like changin it out

if you run a c-clip rearend just run like a short tire like maybe a 23 0r 25 inch tire its less leverage on the tire and axles and if you see a car comin to hit you in the tire hit the brakes
