Has anyone ever ran a derby car without a rear bumper?(on purpose) I was just wondering because if you had a super weak frame,or one that was gonna bend very easily due to poor engineering. i have thought about trying it one time to really make the rear compact in with folding up or down, and use it for a bad-azz ram if done right....what are your thoughts on this?

I did it with this linc.rear frame looked like swiss cheese i chained up the frame just to keep it there and tucked the trunk i wish i had pics of it before i ran it.I got 3 in heat up against plated cars so didn't do to bad for a rot box.

I don't run rear bumpers on any of the caddies I run I also don't run rear bumpers on 5th aves either they seem to do all right always have thought of it like why have extra weight pulling on the end of the frame that really don't need to be there JMO.

The only way I would ever not run a rear bumper would be if it was VERY rusty. Otherwise all the cars will have back bumpers, even if its a prerun mangled back bumper. I'm just too afraid that if I ran without a rear bumper, then another car can come in at an angle and bend the frame outwards into the tires. With a rear bumper I feel like it helps hold the 2 frame rails together.

well it was "fixed" from its first run the frame rails were gone so no way to mount bumper....prolly woulda helped if we knew how to notch a frame the right way...oops lol yea it held up great! NOT! yea you prolly get the picture now I think the frame doin this prolly explains why the car was a total epic failure..

i have a pic some where, (seems i alway have a pic lol) that shows what i will do if/when i run a car, the guy was one of my old neibors (when i was like 4) so it must of done good cus i still rember it.. but he boi tied the trunk, pulled the floor up in the middle, and the trunk lid down, then pulled thesides in from the roof it would look like this ^ the point being where the bumper should have been... he also had the bumper bent and welded on to add the metle...
