I have a few old ones laying around to put in cars without them.

Yes I use them in every car for rad protection. It never hurts to have it. It has served its purpose once so far. Had a slice put into the condensor but it stopped things from cutting the rad.
I have never seen someone use them for a tranny cooler though...interesting. Seems rather large for a tranny cooler though...thats a lot of fluid.

I always use one in front of the radiator, sometimes I use two,,,just put one in front of the core support and one between where it usually is, no one ever notices...I like to drill about 15-20 1/2 inch holes in them to maintain good airflow.

I allways run one also. A pillips screw driver and an hour saves a rad.... And if done riht it helps holt the rad support together..... But it's alot of wire every 2 inches

I have used spray foam, but now I just use chunks of seat cushions around the edges and corners. It's free and makes taking the rad back out easier.
