Ok guys I was up in Dickinson tonite (bigger town 60 miles from me) where 307ci found a stripped roundback wagon sitting on main. Anyway found these cars at a junk/parts dealer. What could I expect to pay for these cars? I believe this was an 01 or 02 vic cant remember exactly. It was in pretty good shape except for the paint peeling in a couple spots. It has 167k miles on it. And found another one further back. didnt have a year but has 87000 miles but has rear end damage. What could I be prepared to pay if I would get either of these cars? And with the rear damage to the one car is it worth it? And btw both have P71 in the VIN

I would go for the wrecked one first, because that one would most likely be the cheapest. Who is going to buy a wrecked car to drive? I'd say 250-300 for the wrecked one. For the clean one anywhere from 300-400. BUT some places will sell them pretty cheap, you could be surprised and get them for 200 each. Depends how long they have been sitting there I guess.

if he is a junk parts dealer let him know what you are looking for, tell him he can keep the headlights, tail lights, etc. I have bought a car off a parts dealer, overpaid but sold him back a ton of stuff so in the end I just stripped the car for free instead of him paying one of his guys I guess.

well we (307ci and i) looked at the cars again today. the one that is wrecked in the back has some damage to the bumper but the worse news was that it doesnt have a motor or tranny. the other one (witht he 167k miles) still has the motor and tranny.

What did they want for them? If you get in a bind for motors and trans, I have a fuel injected 318 mopar and I have a cast iron 2 barrel intake for it. No carb though. I have a small block 904 that will bolt to it and torque converter. I also have big block 727 trans if you find a running big block chrysler.
I also have a running 350/350 short shaft combo that I could be persuaded to part with. Its a 4 barrel. Distributer cap is busted but I have a complete brand spanking new distributor for it. Needs a new trans pan (cheap fix). I have a new double roller timing set, oil pan gasket, and some other crap for it. I already threw the factory exhaust manifolds in the trash months ago.

well depending on the find of derby you are goin with would be a choosing factor if you can do motor swaps go for the wrecked one you can find a decent bumper for the rear and put in a good running motor;)
