has anyone on here ever used or heard of useing a PTO drive shaft in a derby car??i forget where i seen it on id like to know what yall think about them.

never heard of it. is it strnger or something. i would onle use one if i didnt have a driveshaft i would make one work.

pto shafts are normally in things like power line and telephone trucks and other things like that. they convert the power from the motor to an aux. source like the drill to dig holes for poles on those trucks. ptos are from what i understand and seen are like a slider shaft. its 2 pieces 1 piece slides in side the other and allows the rearend to be able to move instead breaking a shaft it collapses in

ive seen a lot of guys use square tubing.its got to be fairly thick wall or it will explode apart.have also seen where they didnt get the yolks centered and it breaks the joins,or tailhousing off.believe it or not we put a carrier berring in my st regis and it worked great.the tranny was in the dirt and rearend was pointing up and everything stayed together.
