ok guys i decided to hardnose my car cuz i cant seem to find a different bumper shock cuz of the messed up one, well i figured id just hardnose it, so i took off the bumper shocks and set it up and realized that i have to cut off the bumper ends to make it fit in there which is fine but do u guys just weld it directly to frame or do u make a bracket,,,, we thought wed make a bracket welded to the front frame then bolted and welded to the bumper bolts, then another bracket welded to the side of the frame then bent at a 90 degree angle and bolted to the bumper bolts and also welded..... every gap between the bumper and brackets and frame to brackets will be welded solid......... will this work good enough?

im not for certain if i understand wut you are saying but this is wut i would do might be the same as wut you are saying but anywho.... i would take a flat peice of steel a little big bigger then the the flat serface that the bumper use to bolt up to the bumper shock... i would then take bolts and bolt that to the front of your frame then weld the plate to the frame..then remove the bolds and weld those holes up (bolt heads wont let the bumper sit flat on the plates) then bolt the bumper up to the plates and wel them in i might also add a few extra hols in the plate so you can spot weld for mor strength hold you get the itdea im trying to throw across you

No weld bumper brackets from AFAB work the best. You can bolt the bumper on, then weld it solid.

those look really good but i dont have the money to spend on them, if i would have the money id just buy a new shock but i dont have a job rite now so im low on derby funding, but those actually look really easy to make so i mite try to just make a set

those brackets are what we're looking at making for the first set. as in the second set...well ill see if i can draw soemthing up tomorrow. basically what the idea is is to take a piece of iron similiar in thickness to the plate on the front of the shock. bolt it into the side of the frame where the orignial shock bolts in. run it along the frame up to the bumper and bend it out at a 90 degree angle so it is flush along the frame and bumper. then take one longer bolt and run it through both plates...the flat one on the front of the frame and the one that runs along the side of the frame. hope this clears it up someone..again ill hopefully get a plan drawn up tmr.

if he says no extra metal added i will argue that this is less metal present than what would be there if the shock is on

looks good to me but its gonna be a pain since the one side is f#cked up so we cant run bolts into it so itll only be welds, no bolts into the frame
