LOL, he does have a bit of a "point". my 67-68 factory imperial bumpers are just a "shell", but they are pretty heavy. No matter what bumper you use, it will eventually just flatten against the beam. I like to use softer, cheap bumpers myself. Helps keep the car from nosing so fast with the rules I run them in. late 70's to early 80's chryslers and GM bumpers are my choice. I actually like the midsized car bumpers beacuse they are just about as long as the beam. And many of them are flat backed.
