Ok this may seem stupid to hear but what exactly is hardnosing. does anyone have pics or a detailed description of what hardnosing is. Thanks for any help.

Basically its welding your bumper directly to the frame without shocks

I've also seen guys with the mid 80 mercs collapse the shocks completely and weld the bumper shock plate to the end of the frame to I've always considered that hardnosing to

well our rules say no welding of bumper shocks so if i take the shocks out theirs is no shock to weld so they cant say anything about that

heres an idea if you remember how i did with my rear bumper i callapsed the shocks and rand a long 1/2 bolt threw it when it was all the way in. that worked perfect and they didnt say a word about itim thinking about doing the same to the front this year. oh the first video i put on youtube has how it looks on the car when its done. heres the vid www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiNp6KtIn3g

I always weld bumper shock plates to frame, then weld bumper to the plates. Gives more surface area to hold the bumper on.

I always hard nose the rear bumper on my fords, on my older gm's I just push the shocks in and weld the hell out of every thing.
