ok what is an all around good chevy derby transmission..
im goin to be picking up my TH350 short tail transmission from a tranny builder this weekend goes by the name of DS transmissions hope it does me good..
also whats your thoughts about getting a built tranny vs rebuilt or stock

to me if you have the money i would get a built tranny. reasons being a better ratio for out put and better materials to last with the heat.

its a constant debate which is better of a th350 or a th400, 400 with take more abuse but robs some power..... behind ur motor id go with a built 350

I usually run a 400. But I have ran both and I can't say I have noticed a power differanc. Not saying there isn't one, I just don't think its much.

perdy much what travis said is exactly what DS Transmissions said about them.... so in other words if you dont run rear breaks and aren't able to stop the tranny b4 shifting your better off with a 400 but from way he talked also its a good idea to get them built because from the factory these trannys run less fluid through in reverse he modifies the pump or something to make it flow more in reverse
