mine is this year too, i cant wait, its seriously driving me nuts waiting,,,,,, one of my friends told me one time that his first derby he had his car built a year in advance for this one certain derby and it was the last derby of the year in the area so he waited for it and it came and it got cancelled so he had to wait a whole nother year, he had his car built for 2 years before getting to run it, that would suck so bad altho he's only been derbying for 4 years hes awesome, he won his local derby last year in a 70s chrysler wagon ( if uve seen my pic on here of the rolled over 80s car, hes the guy that rolled the other guy)

Aug. 22 2007 was my first. Nervous as hell going into the ring, got even worse as they were counting us down. Waited for the cars next to me to go, held it to the floor and the first hit I made I took someone out, after that the adrenaline rush is awesome

I don't know if its because I've been around derbies literally my whole life or not, but anyways you will love every second of it, and wanna do it again right after lol. Its been a couple of months since the derby and all I'm wanting to do is drive another derby, I constantly watch the video when I'm bored.

My first derby was intense to say the least. I was so amp'd up that when we were lining the cars up ,one of the azzhole refs hit my hood with his flag stick and yelled that i wasnt in tight enough(4 inches of space between cars was'nt tight enough !).Well, i went from being nervous to "seeing red... pissed off".I backed my car up 30 feet ,slammed it into drive and got in the row tight then.So tight that the same ref almost jumped out of his boots to get out of the way.Tight enough that it pushed the side of my car, and the car beside me in 2-3"( the whole length of our cars.)...screeech ...you should have heard it!The driver of the car beside me was my cousin, and he was cracking up laughing!Needless to say, i was red hot mad and ready for the count down to come!A few track shots, and a donut or two later my coil went and i was out! To me one of the best parts of a demo derby is that its a way to vent months of stored up road rage, and what a awesome way of doing it too! ;D
My parole officer said i needed anger management , so i told him its taken care of with DEMO-DERBY!! ;D

ive been around derbys all my life, my dad started running in the mid-late 80's and i was born in 92, but in 98 we started moving so he stoped for a few years and did roll overs, and we bought a 4x4 camaro mud racer... not as fun as derbys...

I wasn't really scared or nervous my first time out. I've been around derby's my whole life. I just wanted to go out there and impress my dad and my good buddy Eddie. (R.I.P buddy). If I was anything that day, it would be pissed. My front tire went flat on the way down. I had a spare. My sister pissed me off. And my mom wouldn't stop complaining about how wired I was. She thought I was going to get hurt, or hurt somebody else.
If you do it once you will become addicted. My dad and I call it legalized road rage.
