on my newport i didnt do anything but this next year after i pull the back down and out im gonna notch it rite by the shackles and then probly closer to the humps too, both will be BIG notchs cuz the humps are blown so i need to get stress off of them, lets just say tho i dont plan on using the back one time to hit, i want the front sky high by the end of the derby, im just goin out there to wreck sh!t Do not notch it between the shackles and the humps.Instead of taking stress off the humps,, put a stiffer set of leafs in,, then crank it down on a trailor and put chains around the center of the hump to the rear end. This can really hold the hump in place. I once cut a tihgt chain on a rondback and wathched a straigt hump kink right in front of me. Good chains can hold a load if they are put in the right places.

Not positive but I'm pretty sure he cant change leafs or stiffen them up. He also can't do any chaining with the humps either.
