and in my rant i believe i forgot to add bumper swaps. a "teammate"-ill let 307ci debate about that term-got a 73 impala given to him this year. oil dipstick was missing and motor is locked up but tranny should be good yet. the guy that drove the torino last year has a chance to drive this impala if he can get it going and travis told him that has potential to be a good car because that year has one of the strongest front clips on it. all it needs is a different bumper and he said f*ck that. and travis even went and found him a 75 monte bumper for $50 and he wants nothing to do with it. same with this teammate who is running a 78 caprice...travis told him to take that junker aluminum bumper off for this 75 monte bumper and he doesnt want to either because "its not worth it". and let me say...cars are coming in harder and harder to find around here so why piss around and wreck your car right away by not building it right and then having to risk that benig your last derby for a couple years due to the inability to find another car. the 78 caprice is still staying with the same crappy aluminum one but i think if eric can get that 73 impala goin i think i got him convinced to take the preran bumper off his torino to put on it tho

the dumbest thing a person can do is the night before a derby tak there derby car, and there buddys derby car, and have there own derby... a few buddys of mine did this last year, 2 of them didnt make it to the track, and the guy that had the truck didnt last long on the track... if you want to have your own derby, do it after the achol derby... and man thats a wast of the 73, its not that hard to chang a bumper, (i like the 73 pala bumpers) but im sure hes not welding it eather, not setin the frount up, and hes probable not massing with the rear.. hell if he will even use the rear on the track...

well alot depends on if they can get it running. im sure this year they will start welding the bumpers and stuff but as far as a seat and dash bar i highly doubt it. we told him if he does get it going to swap the bumper with the one of his torino from last year and i think 307ci had him convinced to do it.

well I got a call from the promoter today, and he gave me the best news yet. This year instead of it being a chain and go show, hes gonna have a modified class, pretty much anything goes. The buick will be a good car for that i think.

Officials arnen't always dumb, sometimes they let something like that slide because they dont think its really gonna help, some times they might just like you or be having a good day. Just hope you dont catch the wrong one, if they do say something The best argument I have found is to point out anything you could have done and didn't, basically that your car isn't overbuilt it just has one or 2 stronger areas. I guess i am getting the stinky end of the stick if u know what i mean,,,,LOL ;D but i agree with Ron too,a lot of the PA derbies do allow it i've heard.
