I wanna make a set of headers for my 302. cani use the headers that are on it and just cut off the flange and make my own tubing upwards. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Post any pics of your home made headers or headers in general here

yep thats pretty much how you do it.you may even be able to cut the pipes apart and reuse most of them,if you dont have a bender

Really doesn't make any real difference. Make whatever you think looks best. It would be easier to make 4 singles per side if you don't have a bender.

They are pretty easy to bend once they are red hot,, just be careful not to kink any of the pipes, but if your car has maifolds and not headers its a litlle different. Manifolds are cast, so you may be able to flip them but, you need to find bolt on adapters that are steel to weld the stacks to

im not sure which is better,i do know square has its own sound.a curve will flow better than a sharp 90.but i realy dont think it will hinder you in either way unless ur pushin 800 hp and tryn to shave tenths off the quarter.jmo....i have stock manifolds on my 429 and it screams..lol

i just love the sound of zoomies............... and there are so many ways to make them sound and look different than others.if you get a chance just experiment and make a couple sets.you can get a factory set of headers off a 97 explorer at the junk yard.they have a lot of different curves that have come in handy.good luck and have fun with it

if anyone is wondering you can get header flanges at summit.com.... what would headers sound like if you used thick pipe like plumbing pipe or something. would it be a deeper roar jw
