Those bolts will do more than help hold the bumper on

They are not really doing anything to hold the bumper on I flipped the stock brackets around and shortened them a little and used them to sort of plate the side of the Y the bolts are there to hold the Y together, We are not aloud to close the Y or plate the frame we are only aloud to use stock brackets to the make of the car so thats what I did. I hope it works out the way I want it to.

Nice build..id try and get that car as close to level as possible while not sacrificing front bumper height..

It sits pretty level as it is. What is the advantage to that. I haven't done anything to the rear yet. not aloud to relocate the spring shackles no chaining the humps I can however tuck the trunk and notch the frame. Also chain or wire only in the trunk lid. I did however take the rear bumper off and extend the mounting holes about 2" and push them back up inside as far as they would go and bolt them back on I'll get under it and weld the brackets to the frame when the rain and snow stop. supposed to be pretty nasty here for the next couple days.

just keeps it from going up as fast.. seen alot of guys around here just crank up the torsion bars and not mess with the rear end. just makes the front go up faster because leverage caused by the increased angle of the front.. some have luck with that setup but seen plenty where it just bent or ripped right behind the Y pointing em sky high faster

I got the battery box in today and the batteries wired up, The fuel cell put in and fired up, still runs great. That little 318 with the 2 barrel carb is a strong runnin little motor. And incidently I ran the torsion bars up and got a bumper height of 23" to the middle of the bumper, 18 1/2 to the bottom of the bumper. it sits pretty good in the front. our rules say 18 to the bottom of the bumper. I also got the bolt holes drilled out for the core support so I will replace those with 1/2" all thread when I set the front clip back on.

I always run bolt through there when the fender folds like that, just helps hold the core support and fender that much better. I have never had an official notice it.
