Welded doors actually look pretty good minus the holes but they can be filled in easily.smaller 110 welders are good for thin sheet metal.I use a 220v hobart 187 for everything that I do.I can weld the thin stuff I just gotta take my time and go slow.

always make sure the metal you are welding together is really cleaned up with a grinder you'll get a much better weld with clean metal

Yeah hehe, I'm getting quite a bit done too here in upstate NY.Front bumper needs to be modified on the ends. Only stuff I have left to do is...Build a cage (first for me) run gas line.(Fuel cell is in).Tuck trunk put motor and tranny cooler in.And do my front clip.
I hardnosed my rear bumper we will see if they allow it around here...That way I can take it off if need be, being I use nose all night long.I cut 3 inches off the end of a front vic not marquis/Lincoln. So its pretty short up there can't even tell I did it lol.Cut the window out where you see the shocks through. It's tilted at the boxes. No spacers needed at firewall that way.my bumper is 23" at top in rear and 25 1/2 to top in front. That's with 27" diameter tires all around.Might put 14" rims in rear if I can find some decent rubber.I have no motor in it but have a block sitting in the truck Because I'm trying to set my height right now.The added weight helps me figure out if I lower the ass how much the front comes up.
Can we get away with folding the bumper ends over and welding to the inner reinforcement liner?
I might post some pics but I have an issue with posting my pics cuz guys go run to promoter saying he did this and that online etc.

I just called and asked about the tranny cooler.Hes very firm about having it under hood.Don't matter how well it's covered in driver's compartment.Seems to be safety or insurance issue. He won't let it fly.Under hood any location is okay...
Cage has to be a-b pillar front to back and can angle toward towards passenger side.Didn't go into much detail about this.Good enough for me.
Any ideas of tranny cooler location? seen some guys have like a small rad in front of distributor above water pump on ford motor wonder if I can mount it there and build a bracket for it...? thoughts ideas? other locations? The heater core spot is a bad location had a couple fires there from side shots.

o ok didnt know about the cage thing ill have to call and ask if he allows that... um as for the tranny cooler maybe in front of the rad btwn the condensor but its liably to get damaged there but the ideal that you have might work what kinda car is it

I have seen them mounted on the front top of the engine where they will catch air from the fan.

Ppl go to watch and first year 5-10 cars run then next year everyone catches onto the "easy win" and 75 cars will be there hope u get my drift.I'd just go especially for a driver such as yourself. Then the following year there will be an average number of cars say 25... A derby is a derby there pretty far and few for me and have to travel 110 miles to some.Either you like the rules and payout posted and have the car/time or you don't...

Hmm quoted the wrong one....
also you might want to look into how the promoter has ran other classes.

well i know his full size classes they used to stuff the framed with cement and such and they were overly built cars to the rules like thier cars would litterally drive through the cars for stoney roberts shows and this promotor runs four shows in a year at the same place ill have to talk to my buddy who runs up their and see what he is doing and maybe tag along with him and his team
